When the vending machines were installed at Arakurayama Sengen Park last October, they became hugely popular, with average daily sales reaching about 300,000 yen.
The name of the company making these capsule toys is SPRING, which is in Otsuki City, Yamanashi Prefecture.
Reporter Hirayama said, “These acrylic boards lined up here were used as partitions in restaurants and other places during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now they are being used to make capsule toy products.”
