The reservation process is almost the same as last year. Climbers choose their climbing dates, agreeing to a pledge regarding equipment, and paying a passage fee of 4,000 yen per person.
A new measure has been added this year. Because of some climbers having mistakenly descended via a different route, images of descent path will now be shown during the reservation process to encourage caution.
