As snow covered the face and body, the first sensation was intense cold. Then came unimaginable pressure pressing down on the entire body.

“It’s cold. It’s heavy. It’s completely dark—I can’t see anything.”

The reporter could not move at all and quickly lost any sense of direction. Sound was faint, and there was a profound feeling of isolation and fear. Then, voices were heard in the distance—the rescue team had arrived.

Rescue team member:
“Are you okay?”

Reporter:
“I was buried and alone, and I couldn’t hear much. Knowing you came to rescue me is incredibly reassuring.”
