One month has passed since the earthquake that recorded shaking of seismic intensity 6-lower in Yamanashi Prefecture. As recovery works continue, challenges are also beginning to come into view.

At around 10:30 p.m. on June 26th , an earthquake struck with its epicenter in the eastern part of the prefecture and the Fujigoko area. Seismic intensity 6-lower was recorded in Fujikawaguchiko Town, and 5-upper in Otsuki City.

One month has passed since then.

At a house in Otsuki City, work was underway to replace a damaged roof with a new one.

Motofumi Hatayama, managing director of Japan Stainless Industry, said, “Because of the earthquake, when you go up on the roof, all the tiles have shifted.We removed the tiles, and from here we will build the foundation and place metal tiles on top.”
