Voices of Nagasaki Hibakusha-SAKITA Akio "The sun exploded, causing a major catastrophe on the earth!? I thought I was the sole survivor on the earth"

At age 16 while working at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Nagasaki Armament Works,SAKITA Akio was exposed to the atomic bomb at his home after finishing a night shift.He described seeing piercing lights of various colors.Unable to fit into an air-raid shelter, Mr. SAKITA suffered burns on his back and wasconfined to bed for two years.Amid repeated hospitalizations, life remained difficult for him, his five children, and hisparents, who had also been exposed. The Nagasaki atomic bomb survivors’group, also known as
“Nagasaki Atomic bomb Survivors Council”(Nagasaki-Hisaikyo) and NBC　Nagasaki Broad casting Company signed an agreement.
As part of the “World Project” to commemorate 80 years since the atomic bombing. The project is promoted by the Nagasaki Disaster Relief Association.
Voices of atomic bomb survivors recorded by NBC are uploaded to the Nagasaki Atomic bomb Survivors Council”’s YouTube channel,
News movie streaming service “NBC NEWS DIG” and others.
