Mr. Sumiteru Taniguchi was 16 years old at the time of the bombing.
He was exposed to the atomic bomb in Sumiyoshi-town which was 1.8 km from the hypocenter. He was in the middle of a post delivery.
He was hit by a heat ray from behind and his back and arms were burned red.Mr. Taniguchi had been involved with Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Youth and Girls Association, which was the base of the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Survivors Council, since its inception in 1956.
From June 2006, he had served as chairman of Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Survivors Council.
In 2012, he met the grandchild of president Truman who ordered the dropping of the atomic bomb. He showed off the keloid scars on his body and the deep holes in his chest and he stressed the inhumanity of nuclear weapons. (photo taken in 1990)

The Nagasaki atomic bomb survivors’group, also known as
“Nagasaki Atomic bomb Survivors Council”(Nagasaki-Hisaikyo) and NBC　Nagasaki Broad casting Company signed an agreement.
As part of the “World Project” to commemorate 80 years since the atomic bombing. The project is promoted by the Nagasaki Disaster Relief Association.

News movie streaming service “NBC NEWS DIG” and others.
