KOSASA Hachiro served as the advisor of Nihon Hidankyo and also as the chairperson of NABSC. He was exposed to radiation in the A-bomb at Mitsubishi Weapon Ohashi Factory(39 years). He injured his leg, while his wife and four children suffered exposure to radiation in Showamachi. The oldest son Akihiko (10 years) was killed by an A-bomb, and the second daughter Kuniko (2 years) suffered severe burns to her body.

After the war, KOSASA did everything he could for forming NABSC and Nihon Hidankyo in 1956, while working as a city councilor. As the chairperson of NABSC, he had taken the initiative in anti-nuclear movement for a long time.

KOSASA passed away at 88 in 1994. He kept doing his best to support hibakusha and eliminate nuclear weapons. His great accomplishment laid the foundation for the Peace Movement now.
