As part of the "World Project" commemorating 80 years since the atomic bombing—an initiative promoted by the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Survivors Council (Nagasaki-Hisaikyo)—NBC has been broadcasting the recorded testimonies of survivors in both Japanese and English since 2025.
In this installment of the "Voices of the Hibakusha" series (No. 25), we present the testimony of TSUJIHARA Mitsuo.

Mr. TSUJIHARA Mitsuo　was 15 years old at the time of the bombing.
He was a third-year student at Nagasaki Commercial High School, and He worked at Mitsubishi Arms Factory as part of the mobilized student program.
On August 9, at dawn, He returned to my lodging in Motohara-machi, 1.5 kilometers from the hypocenter, and was exposed to the atomic bombing.
He suffered extensive burns all over my body.
