Yamanashi Prefecture Tourism, Culture and Sports Department, Mt. Fuji Tourism Promotion Supervisor, Toru Saigusa said “We want to be fully prepared, including safety measures, so that people can fully enjoy the splendor of Mt. Fuji.”

According to the prefecture, as of 2:00 p.m. on the 19th, about 18,000 reservations had been made through prepayment of the passage fee, which is about 30% higher than last year.

Mt. Fuji’s summer climbing season runs from July 1 to September 10.
